About

Colin Baird, The Cycling Scot
Exploring the paths of the Callendar Estate in Falkirk

My dream is to see all of Scotland by bike

I am Colin, a Scottish travel writer and blogger. I want to share with you all of the wonderful places that you can visit in Scotland using a bicycle. On my site you will find inspiration about where to go and what to see and do.

This site is for anybody interested in Scotland. It's about travel. I just happen to use a bicycle to get around.

Lonely Planet writer

I am a published author. I contributed to Lonely Planet's Experience Scotland book. I wrote the North Highlands chapter and the cycle route for the South Scotland chapter.

Appearances

I have talked on the radio about cycling in Scotland, being invited to the studios of East Coast FM.  I was interviewed for a podcast about cycling in Scotland for Under the Tartan Sky. I have also been a guest speaker at a digital tourism conference for Caithness and Sutherland. I was invited to speak about blogging and how it can bring more visitors to an area. I am always open to new opportunities, so please get in touch to discuss your project.
